State Theatre Acting Company (STAC) is excited to present its upcoming musical, The Drowsy Chaperone, winner of 5 Tony Awards including best score and best book. Making its Broadway debut in 2006, it was hailed by New York Magazine as "The Perfect Broadway Musical.” Drowsy is presented by the company that brought you Young Frankenstein, Sister Act, and the celebrated production of Mamma Mia!

In this tremendously fun and entertaining send-up of Jazz Age musicals, a die-hard theatre fan known only as Man in Chair plays his favorite cast album, a fictional 1928 smash hit, which bursts into life with the hilarious tale of a celebrity bride and her uproarious wedding day. Mix in a bumbling best man, gangsters, a misguided Don Juan, and an intoxicated chaperone, and the result is an evening of madcap delight. Featuring one show-stopping song after another, Drowsy is musical comedy at its best.

Renowned for extravagant costuming, a live band, and big dance numbers, STAC promises an enchanting production which can only be described as a love letter to Broadway that you won’t forget.
