The Widowed Persons Club of Auburn (WPCA) is the new name for the former Widowed Persons Association of California - Auburn Chapter as a result of a virtually unanimous member vote. WPCA is now a stand alone 501 (c) (4) non profit organization and is no longer associated with the State Board of the Widowed Persons Association of California. No member of WPCA or any other person receives any salary from WPCA.

The purpose of WPCA remains the same: To provide a support group for widowed men and women of all ages and to promote a wide range of social activities through which widowed persons have the opportunity to make new friends and find redirection in their lives. This organization, first as Widowed Persons Association of California - Auburn Chapter and now Widowed Persons Club of Auburn, has been helping widowed persons throughout Auburn and nearby Placer County and El Dorado County communities for over 27 years.

In addition to other activities, the membership meets regularly twice a month at the Sizzler Restaurant, 13570 Lincoln Way, in the Auburn area. A Get Acquainted Dinner is each first Thursday of the month at 4:30 p.m. with the next being November 3rd; for information including membership call Denise 530-823-5321. The General Meeting is a noon luncheon on the third Friday of each month with the next being November 18th; for more information call Jeanette at 530-888-6880.

Grief support, that is both confidential and no cost, is available to all widowed men and women. Call Yvonne 530-823-7795 for more information.
