Welcome to the new year, Foresthill! As I reflect upon 2019, it is with tremendous pride that I think about the hardworking and caring teachers and staff that support the students and families of our school. Though we have had many successes in our short time together, I know that we as a team have our best days ahead of us as we approach the second half of the school year. I know that we as a team will continue to engage in our cycle of continuous improvement to provide the best possible educational experience for our students and families. I know that we as a team are committed to a fabulous 2020. It’s going to be a great year, Foresthill!

District News: The next Foresthill Union School District (FUSD) Board meeting will be on January 13 at 6:30 p.m. at Foresthill Divide School (FDS) in the Science room. Doors will be open to the public for open session starting at 6:00 p.m. On the agenda will be the second round of discussions regarding the possible establishment of a Foundation to provide the district with additional fiscal and public relations support. Currently scheduled to attend are Placer County Supervisors Bonnie Gore (District 1 - Roseville) and Cindy Gustafson (District 5 – Foresthill and other regional communities) to provide insight into their respective school Foundation experiences. The Lions have been avid and consistent supporters of FUSD. It is with great pleasure that the district will be supporting the Lions for their two-day Free Health Care Clinic event on January 11th and 12th. FDS will be the meeting place to catch the shuttle to the event at the Nevada County Fairground in Grass Valley and back. School News: Foresthill Divide School closed out December and 2019 in grand fashion. We celebrated the academic successes of our students at the first of our semi-annual Awards Assembly on December 5th. Our fourth-grade students enjoyed and learned much at their annual Sutter’s Fort overnight field trip on December 17th.  And finally, the gymnasium was filled to capacity for the heartwarming and impressive performances by our students for Winter Program on December 19th. It was a magical night for everyone that was enjoyed by all.
