Ray was born in Cleaton, Kentucky on March 5th, 1935, being one of nine children to parents Henry and Nellie Rush. His family moved to San Diego, California in the early 1940's. He married Donna Todd. Ray is survived by Donna, son Ray, daughters Tondra Davis, Rhonda Rush and Londra (Rick) Barker. Nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren, his brother Gene (Dotti) and sister Frances Morris, many nieces and nephews in Northern California and Illinois and many friends especially Pam and Griz and those in the Michigan Bluff area.

Ray moved to the L. A. area where he worked in reprographics until he moved to Auburn and then Foresthill in the late 1980's to semi-retire. At his death he lived in Michigan Bluff. He was in the American Legion and was a bar tender at several places. His hobby was making walking sticks and other things of manzanita. He was a bird watcher and had many bird houses to feed them.

Ray’s sense of humor and his stories will be greatly missed.

Ray was 84.

A memorial will be at later date.
