On Monday, July 1st, the community of Foresthill celebrated the reopening of Fire Station 90. Located at 20450 Foresthill Road in the Todd Valley area of Foresthill, the fire station was part of a reduction in service initiated by the District in February of 2018 as a result of fiscal distress.
In May of this year, voters of the Foresthill Fire Protection District passed a special fire tax to improve district funding including the reopening of the previously closed fire station. The fire station, one of two operated by the District provides fire and ambulance response to the Todd Valley and lower Foresthill areas. Opening the station will improve response times and increases the number of available responders within the Foresthill Fire District.
We are very pleased to deliver on our commitment of hiring staff to fill vacancies and get the fire station opened on our projected date of July 1st the first day that funding provided by the passage of Measure B is available to the District.
The Fire District celebrated with a ribbon cutting ceremony in front of the fire station on Monday July 1, 2019, at 9:00am.
