The Foresthill Lions Club’s will host the annual Student Speaker Contest on Tuesday, February 18th, 2020, in the side conference room at Memorial Hall. Contestants should arrive no later than 5:30 PM for final instructions. The contest will start at 6:00 pm sharp. This year’s topic is, “Homelessness in California, What is the Solution?” The contest is open to all students grades 9-12 at Foresthill High School, home schooled or in a town charter school.

Participating students must write their own speech on the subject given, and can read from their notes.  The speech should be a minimum of 5 minutes and a maximum of 10 minutes. Participants will be limited to six, first come first served. The Club winner will receive $100 and move on to compete at the Lions Zone level in March. All other speakers will receive $25 for their participation. The final winner of the Lions MD-4 contest will receive a total scholarship of $21,000.
