Part 2 of our segmented class will answer the question of why we would even use essential oils.  Some of you are already used to the idea of natural remedies, so this may not be a question.  But most of us did not grow up using natural remedies, we went to the doctor and asked for the pill, or bought over-the-counter remedies.

Three of the best things about using essential oils for our health is 1)  They are inexpensive.  Most doses are just a drop or two, so that means pennies per use; 2)  Because they are natural, bio-active compounds, our bodies know what to do with them.  Most of the time we use them to address the root of the health issue, aiding our bodies to heal themselves.  Medicines address symptoms, leaving the cause, and often causing additional harmful side effects.  Essential oils will provide side benefits; 3)  They are easily obtainable.  Of course you can get them everywhere now, but I will address the importance of purity and potency in the next column.

And the downside of using oils?  I really can’t think of any…you might say, how do I know which ones to use, and how to use them, it is so overwhelming!  That is where you need someone trained in their use to help you make these determinations.  I have completed training in this, and am currently working on becoming a certified health coach, so I can help you, no need to try to figure it out yourself.

There is actually one more “best thing”—regular use of essential oils, and a few easy to do lifestyle changes, will put you on the path to better health.  Many of the things you currently need to seek medicines and treatments for can be prevented.  Preventing dis-ease gives us more days of feeling great, emotionally and physically.  Put those days in your hands.

As we begin to gather together again, I will be offering these classes in small, intimate settings.  You may be interested in hosting one in your home with a few of your favorite people interested in natural health remedies. Please reach out to me, it is time to take your health in your own hands.
