The Wildfires opened league play with a convincing 48 - 6 win over Western State Collegiate Academy.  Quarterback Kaiden "K-Gun" Pennington fired 3 TD passes and added 94 yards on the ground while Running Back Brody Siefker rushed for 117 yards and 2 scores. Wide Receiver "Slick" Nick Lechner had 2 TD grabs, while Running Back Caleb Westphalen had a rushing and a receiving touchdown. Linebacker Drew Stroup was the man in the middle, forcing two fumbles, recovering two fumbles and adding a sack for good measure. Cornerback Chet Matz had 2 interceptions and Defensive End Trace Hendrickson recorded 2 sacks.

The Encina Bulldogs came to Sebastian Stadium looking to rain on the Wildfires Homecoming Parade. It was a defensive battle early, as the two teams headed to the locker room knotted at zero. Encina however, erupted for 24 unanswered points in the second half. The Wildfires finally got on the board late in the 4th quarter on a touchdown pass from Pennington to Lechner, but it was not enough as the Wildfires fell 24 to 6 to the Bulldogs. Pennington ended the night 8 for 15 with 127 yards and 1 TD. Siefker led the ground attack with 39 yards, while Medrano led the receivers with 52 yards. Defensively, Siefker totaled 15 tackles and Hendrickson tallied 11, while Medrano and Stroup added 10 apiece. Defensive End Casey Baldwin added a sack for the Wildfires, who fell to 1 - 1 in league play.

The Wildfires took to the road to take on their arch rival from Woodland Christian. The talented Cardinal's went to intermission with a 17 - 0 lead and never looked back, winning 45 - 8. Trace Hendrickson's 90-yard kickoff return was the lone touchdown for the Boys from Foresthill, who fell to 1 - 2 in league play. Lechner led the receiving corps with 6 grabs and added 9 tackles on defense. Siefker and Medrano had 10 tackles each.

The last home game of the year brought the Delta Knights to town. The Wildfires started out strong and led 25 - 14 midway through the 3rd quarter. The Knights, however, controlled the clock in the 2nd half with a solid ground attack and salted away a 29 - 25 victory. Versatile Elias Estrada had a huge game, totaling 174 yards from scrimmage and 2 touchdowns. Pennington threw for 216 yards and 2 scores, while Lechner had 5 grabs for 77 yards. Medrano snared a TD and had 10 tackles on the defensive side of the ball. Stroup had 15 tackles and a fumble recovery, while Baldwin had a fumble recovery of his own and Westphalen grabbed an interception.

The Wildfires finished their 2018 season in style with a heart stopping 26-25 victory over a game Valley Christian squad. Pennington connected with Hendrickson late in the 4th quarter on a beautiful 20 yard touchdown pass that put the Wildfires ahead for good. Hendrickson finished the day with 2 touchdown catches while Siefker totaled 58 yards on the ground and a TD. Lechner's pick six early in the 4th was a huge momentum changer in the wild see-saw affair. Stroup had 14 tackles and an interception of his own, while Steven Radford added 11 tackles.

Under the guidance of 2nd year Coach Steve Collier, The Wildfires finished the year with a record of 5 - 5 (2 - 3 SMAL).
