A dull cerise shield obscures a gibbous Lunar orb


Drifting ash from distant conflagrations

Blankets the nocturnal sky


Acrid acidic aromas assault sensitive sinuses

Driving the amateur astronomer back into chilled comfort

And unspoiled atmosphere


We appreciate best the sparkling silver glint of winter

In the season of the Blood Moon
