The Foresthill community was able to gain valuable information to learn how to create defensible space and help protect you from wildfire! The event was held at Memorial Park this past Saturday and there were various information stations to check out, talk to experts about what to look for and do when reducing fuels around your home and see fire personnel on-site doing work.

Participants were able to get helpful garden & landscape tips, water conservation ideas, understand weed management and gather community partner information from:

• Foresthill Fire District

• Placer County

• US Forest Service

• CalFire

• Firewise USA Sites

• American Legion

• IAFC Ready, Set, Go! Pro               gram

Boy Scout Troop 26 spent many hours prepping the site and performing ground clean-up.

Home Depot and Tuff Shed donated a permanent shed on site that was utilized in the demonstrations for fire safety. The area in front of the shed was planted with fire tolerant plants that the  community  may review for their own home planting needs. The shed will be utilized in the future for storage needs.
