A successful Lions Road Clean-up was held Saturday 11/13 starting at 9

am by the Happy Pines Fire Station.

A total of 12 people participated, ten Lions, one soon-to-be Lion and

one spouse: Mark Bell, Mary Bell, Mickey Owen, Dennis Boardman, Sandy

Connelly, Brian Connelly, Steve Smith, Linda Smith, Deborah Rodriguez

(Soon-to-be member), Harlan Hamburger, Brent Andrews (spouse) and Tyler Harkness. After a brief meet and greet with photo, participants were assigned

their section of Foresthill Road from Happy Pines to the Lutheran Church.

In addition to all of the trash along the road, Mickey, Brent and Linda

spotted a dead dog. Mickey and Brent also saw a sign along the road for a lost dog

that matched the dog they saw.  They gave the number a call and reported

the location. Later, while Mark was still there, the owner showed up and

verified it was her dog, Tux.  She was very thankful to the Lions for

contacting her.

Upcoming activities by the Lions include providing a commercial refrigerator and freezer to

Giving Hearts Food Pantry and the lighting of the Main Street Christmas Tree. If you have an interest in learning more about the Lions please call Steve Smith at 916-300-6016.
