As of the writing of this article, the students, teachers, and staff are on their well-deserved time off for Spring Break. We look forward to returning on April 6 for a strong finish to the final 10 weeks of school.

Foresthill Union School District (FUSD) News: The next FUSD Board meeting is Monday, April 12 starting at 6:45p. Due to the current COVID-19 (C19) landscape, the meeting may be held via Zoom teleconferencing rather than in-person at the school. Access information will be on the district website no later than Friday, April 9 at 5:00 p.m.

The Callen Group is seeking applicants to serve on the 7-11 Committee to gather information as well as to review and analyze options regarding our old elementary school. Under California law, the committee must have at least seven (7) members and no more than eleven (11) members. Applications are available in the front office or at the following link http://fusd.org/7-11 and due no later than April 30. The first of numerous Wednesday evening monthly meetings is now set for June 2, 2021 at 5:30p.m. with the final report due to the Board in November 2021. Community members, philanthropic organizations, and businesses owners are encouraged to apply.

Foresthill Divide School (FDS) News: Our school now has scheduled crossing guards on Foresthill Road for most days in the morning and afternoon. We will continue to seek out more resources until full time daily scheduling is sustainable for the long term. As always, please slow down and drive safely as you pass the school.

With all of our students able to attend daily in-person instruction for full days since the end of February, our campus focus after safety is the upcoming State tests for our students in grades 3 through 8. Most of our teachers will be doing final test preparations before giving their students assessments in mid-April through mid-May. This is an important time for the students and teachers with all families being requested to have their children timely at school each day.

FDS students, families, and staff remain steadfast in their commitment to the culture of positivity, can-do spirit, supportiveness, and kindness in the most challenging times of our lives. I would like the community to continue its commitment with our school and families in exhibiting the same positive culture throughout Foresthill as well…for the sake of our children’s success.

Thank you.
