The 7-11 Committee is in the final stages of their work regarding future surplus prospects for our vacated elementary school, Foresthill Elementary School. Please be sure to attend the final opportunity for community input at the 7-11 Committee meeting on October 20 before a recommendation is submitted to the Foresthill Union School District Board of Education in November or December. More detailed meeting information is provided below.

As a friendly reminder, the 7-11 Committee will meet on Wednesday, October 20 at 6:00 p.m. for its fourth meeting to continue collaboration on the surplus property process for the old elementary school. This meeting will be held in-person at Foresthill Divide School. Agenda and access information will be on the district website by Friday, October 15 at 5:00p. An Open House for the community will also be on the agenda for this meeting. All families, staff, community members, and interested parties are welcome and encouraged to attend.

Foresthill Divide School (FDS) News: After our school’s return on September 13 from two weeks of remote learning through our Short-term Independent Studies program, the positive case reporting has settled and decreased significantly since August 27. More and more return to “better than” normal activities are now commonplace at our campus. Board meetings, safety drills, and sports (flag football, girls basketball, and soccer league events) are now happening almost daily at our school. Students and staff alike are enjoying all of the activities that the pandemic has forsaken us in the last year and a half!

FDS students, families, and staff will continue working together as a team to return to “better than” normal for the 2021-22 school year. I would like to, as usual, invite the community to join us in that cause to provide our students with world-class education…for the sake of our children’s success and future.

Thank you.
